DAYANAMIX an annual cultural event is being held every year featuring competitions in various areas of art and culture. This event is being carried as a talent search among the student community. The event gives stage and opportunity to showcase their hidden cultural talents, which help students in building their personality.This year, being the golden jubilee year of Karnataka, SUVARNA KARNATAKA - Annual Cultural festival D A Y A N A M I X – 2007 was held during 11 - 13 April 2007
The following are the Events at a Glance:
Ø LITERARY : Essay writing, Debate, Poetry, Elocution, Extempore & Quiz.
Ø MUSIC: Classical vocal & instrumental (Carnatic & Hindusthani), Film hits (Solo & Duet), Light music (Solo & group), Folk music (Solo & group), Anthakshari (kannada & Hindi), Western music (Solo & group)
Ø DANCE: Classical, Folk, contemporary, western (solo & group) dances.
Ø THEATRE: Mono acting, mimicry, mime, dumb charades, Mad ads, Skits, street plays and One act plays.
Ø ARTS: Rangoli, painting, sketching, vegetable carving, collage, face painting, Photography & Ikebana.
Ø Staff events: Film hits, Light music, Folk music, Anthakshari & Rangoli.
Ø All art works will be exhibited on the last day.
Ø Special attraction: Slow drag, Treasure hunt & Creative games.
Ø Ethnic day on Friday, 13th April 2007; Mr. & Miss Ethnic contests. Around 400 students participated in 38 and odd events in all above categories.
The events were spread over three days in four venues of the campus. Reputed judges in their areas evaluated the contestants. Prominent among them were Deepashri, and Arundathi Jatkar, well known Theatre and TV artists.
Ethnic day was celebrated on the last day i.e, Friday, 13th April 2007. Students were dressed in regional and traditional ware. Ethnic show was conducted and Mr. And Miss ethnic were awarded.
Staff members also participated in various events and bagged many prizes.
The faculty and students of various departments under the college cultural committee coordinators, S.A. Vasantha Kumara of IEM and K.N.Vishwanath of Civil, coordinated the events.
